01/10 (Sa)—Town Meeting on Puppy Mills & Animal Welfare—2:30pm, Iowa City Public Library, room A. This is a grass roots effort promoting legislation in Iowa to eliminate puppy mills. We do not want to see more companion animals grown as cash crops. The State should have oversight on people already in this industry (even if they have a federal license) upon complaint. The more people who attend this meeting, the better we’ll be able to protect companion animals. Please attend! |

03/6 (Sa)—Pet Care Fair—1-4pm, Grant Wood Elementary School Gymnasium, 1930 Lakeside Dr, Iowa City, IA. Join us for an afternoon of learning about: Dog Bite Prevention & Animal Safety; Disaster Preparation for Pet Owners; and Pet First Aid.

Quarterly Board Meeting—11-3pm,
Animal Rescue League, 5452 NE 22nd St, Des Moines, Iowa. This is the rescheduled meeting that was cancelled due to iffy weather in January. It’s potluck lunch (lasagna for carnivors and vegetarians, bread sticks, and salad graciously provided by Siouxland Humane). Consider bringing a side dish/dessert/drink to share!
